This European Congress of Rural Tourism, of itinerant nature, takes place for the first time outside the Spanish territory. It also presents as a novelty, the figure of the invited territory, which this year belongs to the Extremadura region, represented by its Directorate General of Tourism.

COETUR is an initiative of the Escapada Rural, and this edition is hosted both by the Historic Villages of Portugal and the Municipality of Sabugal as well as the institutional support of Turismo Centro de Portugal and Turismo de Portugal.

“The focus of the 6th edition of COETUR is fully aligned with the new way of working, based on public-private collaboration, which allows us to consolidate the idea of a single Iberian market for rural tourism in the international tourist scene”, emphasizes António Robalo, president of Municipality of the Sabugal and of the Historic Villages of Portugal.
