‘SABUGAL PRESÉPIO’ WITH MORE THAN 40,000 VISITORS
During one month – from December 7th to January 6th – the city centre was once again the cradle of the ‘Sabugal Presépio’.
More than 40 thousand visitors were involved in the Christmas spirit and surprised the senses with the recreation of the Bethlehem Nativity Scene, feeling like an integral part of it.
The ‘Sabugal Presépio’ was also the stage for a ‘Christmas Street Market’ and ‘Fantastic Christmas, Plastic Recycle’ exhibition of craftworks executed by students from the county’s schools and the users of IPSS`s (private social welfare institutions), as well as numerous initiatives for the whole family: an ecological ice rink, street entertainment – face painting, balloon modelling and magic – theatre plays, musical performances, concerts, Show cooking and in addition all this, there also cultural and sporting activities like an exhibition of Nativity Scenes, in the Museum of Sabugal, and a Christmas mountain bike tour .
Through this activity, the Municipality has attracted more visitors to the county, thus giving more life to the territory, involving the locals and making this event a source of pride for the people of Sabugalenses.
